I review the LT-432, a tier 8 light tank in of Tanks (), with replays of tier 10 and tier 9 Cliff battles.

The LT-432 was just released for sale and the strongest tier 8 light tank by a significant margin. It has the same crew layout as the tier 10 T-100 LT and therefore a good crew trainer for it.

Strengths and Weaknesses
+ Superb turret protection: 200mm effective, very bouncy
+ Superb camouflage: over 38 with BIA, Camo, and Vents
+ Excellent frontal hull protection: ~160mm effective
+ Excellent gun handling and dispersion values
+ Excellent shell velocity
+ Small, flat profile
+ Good DPM (almost 2.1k base)
+ Good gun depression (-7), unusual for a Russian light
– Difficult to reach 445+m of view range without food due to lackluster view range (380m base). To get to 445m you need a skilled crew (BIA, Situational Awareness) paired with Optics and Vents

Recommended Equipment
1. Optics
2. Rammer
3. Vents

This tank doesn’t need VStab given the excellent dispersion values.

I talk through how I’m reading the battle as it unfolds and discuss key decisions and mistakes. My hope is that these videos meaningfully help players improve their .

  1. Yeah it’s OP as shit. Saw it on skill4ltu’s channel. It’s definitely better than the blackdog, but do you think it’s better than the type 64?

    • The LT-432 is the strongest premium light tank in the game. It has excellent armor, camo, and a good gun.

    • +Taugrim Thanks. Also, type 64 and M41 were made before light tank MM was changed, so every light was moved one tier down including them, but they didn’t change at all. Imagine putting a defender at tier 7, or a KV2 at tier 5, or Maus/Obj140 at tier 9. That’s why they became really good. People already paid for them and there wasn’t any complaints.

This thing however, was made after the light MM changes. That makes me think that whoever designed it and put it like this must not be the sharpest crayon in the box. Kind of anmoying that they would make a tank that is better than another tank that was already balanced and then moved down one tier with no changes.

Lastly, thanks for teaching me how to play overlord. I always hang around the middle too much.

    • There’s been a trend of premium tanks being released that are meaningfully better than the tech tree counterparts.

It’s not good for game balance.

I am glad to get a chance to play the LT-432 first-hand so I am speaking from experience and not just looking at the stats.

  2. Notification squad woop, perfect timing just as I went to the toilet thanks Taugrim 😛

  3. Missed your videos

  4. I’m back!!! Good news: I joined the Community Contributor Program 🙂

Because many of you don’t bother to read the video description, below is the summary

    • Wondered where you went, good to hear you’re still here 🙂

    • Thank you for the great content! Congratulations on becoming a CC, that’s amazing news 😀

    • Nice review and opinions as always Taugrim but I don’t really agree with leaving out vstabs on tanks just because they have moving good dispersion values especially on a light tank, because while something like 0.08 on the move sounds like a very small value to reduce by 20%, when you’re bombing it around near top speed, the bloom actually ends up very large becoming more like 0.3/0.4 rather than something like 0.08. The value you see in tanks.gg as far as i can tell refers to the bloom moving at a certain reference speed which is quite low.

    • +Jonah Qi Fair points.

It’s worth noting that I don’t flank-and-fire-on-the-move as much as other light tank drivers. I prefer to work 1SA (1st Shot Advantage) over and over from bushes with adjacent hard cover.

    • +Taugrim ah that’s true it did cross my mind

  5. Worth it to buy? Cause I have black bulldog and elc even 90 , love light tanks but his alpha damage is horrible ( so still thinking

  6. LOH JENN HOUE ADAmloh

I like the title have totally worth it,but to be honest taugrim this tank was a bit too good for it tier…also congrats for joining the CC program

    • It will become clear with the stats that the LT-432 is too strong.

I’m expecting that the LT-432’s performance globally in terms of win rate will be 4-5 percentage points above average, so like 53-54%.

  7. it is nice go see you back

  8. Congratulation for getting into the CC community! You didn’t even beg for it like one of my favorites Clause Kellerman. I enjoy your commentary and advice.

  9. Thank you for the video! I watch different WoT stuff on Youtube but with your’s I learn : )

  10. I know I do not follow WOT much anymore but a Eagle7 ??? (just looked it up 🙂 T26e3 but it is new right ) Great vid as normal which is why I still watch despite my WOT holiday 🙂

    • Eagle 7 is nothing special. Just another lightly armored 240 alpha american medium, like t23e6, pilot, pershing. Tiny differences but realisticall when playing them and dealing with them theyre all the same

  11. Congratulations for being invited into WG’s CCP!

  12. Congratulations on becoming a sell out Taug!
The 432 is quite OP especially against tier 6 & 7s. The two things I don’t like about it though is it has that forward fuel tank of the 430, and I don’t like the p2w component of the gold rounds. better normalization, better penetration at the cost of almost no velocity.

Also, another good candidate for dropping vert stabs on is the T92 light which has even better gun handling than the 432. I currently am playing around with optics and binocs on it cuz, it’s strength is not the gun.

    • > Congratulations on becoming a sell out Taug!

Haha. My opinion will never be for sale.

I do appreciate getting tanks for free though.

      > Also, another good candidate for dropping vert stabs on is the T92 light which has even better gun handling than the 432

      That’s a good call.

I would look to run Optics/Rammer/Vents in the T92 based on what you said. The gun is still work maximizing with Rammer IMO.

    • +Taugrim
I have found the binocs useful for certain early spots like mountain pass. It is also in part of getting a whole lot of high tier matches and realizing my gun was borderline useless, so I wanted to see if I could maximize my spots instead. It’s a give and take with vents and my verdict is still out.

    • +Scott Poet The only time I use Binocs is on the ELC AMX and other mid-tier light tanks tanks that struggle to get to/near 445m

  13. Awesome that you joined the CCP!!

  14. Good vid, thanks. Been tossing this around – get or not. How will it do with only the 100% crew at first? Congrats on joining the CC!

    • The LT-432 does better than most lights would with a fresh gold crew, because it already has very high camo and the armor and profile make it forgiving.

To me, there are 3 very different levels of crews:
      1. a crew without a full skill yet
      2. a crew that has between 2-3 skills
      3. a crew that has 4+ skills

Obviously #1 is tough because you lack Sixth Sense and get ammo-racked a lot, and for a light or medium tank your camo is a work-in-progress.

I find most tanks pretty playable with #2.

With #3, you basically get a very polished experience, and don’t have to sacrifice anything meaningful to get BIA.

The gap between #1 and #2 is significant, less so between #2 and #3.

    • +Taugrim Thanks! I’ll tell my wife you said it was ok to get 😉 I think I have an unplaced female crew member, so I guess she could be the commander in a pinch (that would be sixth sense). I have been watching you since episode #1 – I appreciate your effort to teach us.

    • +Shawn P Haha yes, tell her I said to buy it. But seriously, the tank is ridiculously effective in its current state. It’s the strongest premium light tank in the game.

  15. Another OP p2w tank yay

  16. Congratz on being back and becoming a community contributor looking forward to seeing more vidz. Keep it up 👍

  17. You make great guides on competitive games, been looking at them since the prot paladin day. Still enjoy these but just can’t play wot, it is pay 2 win. It is nice that you play without gold ammo but most don’t, i quit when i was at grinding the to the T62, liberal gold ammo use took my t54 win-rate from 42% to 59% winrate… ridiculous.

  18. Congrats on joining the community thing!

  19. I missed u 🙂

  20. Congrats on joining the CC program! The armor on this tank makes it an exelent bully against tier 6, but when does it fight tier 6 these days. Its real strength comes from its powerful gun and meaningful camo.

    • I’d say it still has great survivability, not due to immense armour values but due to its incredibly low profile. Would be such a pain to try and hit especially in tanks with bad gun handling

  21. Cc, that’s cool. Love your vids. The amx 1357 seems to be real popular and right up your alley. When ya get time will ya make a vid and show some of your play. I have one and it’s a lot of fun. I actually don’t have premium loaded and for an average player do pretty good in it. Let’s here what you gotta say man.

  22. I like the t44 and have a t432 great tank. It circle killed me last night in my t44. That tells it all.

  23. Nice Taugrim Congratz on the CC program…. Hey do even shoot any gold rounds in any of the games you play? WoW another 432 on the other team already up for sale then.

  24. woot woot Mr. T is back

  25. anotherrandomtexan25

I like how this russian pancake turret has 7 degrees of gun depression while having what seems to be similar gun handling as a walker bulldog… cant break the new mold of T8 prems being better than their tech tree counterparts can we!

    • I agree. The flat turret should have very poor gun depression. Also, a small cramped turret should have a low DPM and poor view range. Russian bias strikes again.

    • Yea it makes no sense. Flat turreted tanks shouldn’t be able to depress their guns. At least, from what I’ve learned from WoT about tank design.

  26. Great review and welcome back, you stay away far too long mate. Thanks for the game play tips although I wish we had them for all the maps…. one day hopefully. So finally a CC, well done. You will be getting your special account with 9+ skilled crew and all the latest tanks to play with. I know you will, just keep your integrity.

    • > You will be getting your special account with 9+ skilled crew and all the latest tanks to play with

Do you mean one of those shared accounts? I’d prefer to play on my own account.

I’m not really familiar with the CC program so we’ll see.

  27. congrats on the CC dude! I am honestly glad you are back to making vids

  28. i like that you didn’t use gold ammo 🙂

  29. I still like WZ-132 playstyle better (I like some alpha in my lights), but yeah this tank looks too strong esp compared to LTTB. However, how good is its camo? Compared to T92 and T-100 for example?

    • Camo is just slightly better than T 92 LT. In fact, only the Elc EVEN 90 and BC 12t have better camo. 4tankersanddog has a video about its scouting power.

    • With my crews, the camo in the LT-432 (38) and Bat Chat 12t (37.8) are virtually identical.

The LT-432 is a superb scout.

    • +Taugrim This tank would have been fine with 3 degrees gun depression and about 30% less DPM.

    • 5 degrees of gun depression, the same DPM as the LTTB, and tone down the armor. The LT-432 has too much armor for its speed. Mobility and armor should always be on a seesaw – you can have one or the other, or a blend in the middle.

    • +Taugrim The breech in the flat turret can’t depress like the one in the LTTB. We Americans designed our turrets tall and spacious to promote crew efficiency. I served in a M60A3 performing every crew position back in the 1980’s. Function follows form. Soviet bias defies physics by having armor without mass penalty, cramped turrets for great camo with neither view range nor DPM penalty. WG creates a game that consistently displays a bias for Mother Russia. I have purchased 12 tier 8 premiums over the years, but I can’t tolerate the MM and P2W premium tanks. I would love to buy the LT-432 due to all the pros that you clearly listed. With -3 depression and less DPM, the tank would be good but not be broken. The speed, armor and camo would entice players to shell out money without continuing to promote power creep. You have my continuing respect for playing without gold spamming despite the current MM. Good hunting.

  30. Congrats on becoming a CC!

  31. Congrats on making CC!

  32. nice to see you back Taugrim.

  33. Congrats on joining the CCP for Wot! Keep up the good work Taugrim!

  34. I cursed you that match. I was Eagle 7 😛

    • You did the right thing early-to-mid game by going to E6, playing hull-down.

The issue when you flexed around to the 1 lane and came up the shelf is that I was still in the same position. You can’t get to me without eating flanking fire from tanks east of me. If there were no tanks on my team east of me, then you can try pushing me, but you will vulnerable to arty fire.

If you run into that situation again, you can stay mid, blind-fire my position (and cross your fingers), or better yet find other tanks to shoot at.

The map feels a bit imbalanced because the south spawn has that sniper’s nest.

  35. Thanks for your video, very useful information! This tank seems pretty neat and I’ll probably buy it when it hits the EU server

  36. welcome back and congratulations for become cc
And this tank is op like to say or not we just f up again its better somr tier 9 medium tanks and gun handeling better than tier 10 light tank and some meds yes its op tank just wait and see when it come for sale

  37. Progetto is a really good tank

  38. Congrats on making the CC program , I got the LT 432 as a gift from a clan mate as a casual player I really enjoy playing it .

  39. Great video an awesome looking tank! Also would you mind doing a video or at least giving your opinion on the 705? I’m working towards it an I’m curious is its a better side scrapper than the 705a (being some t9s are better tier for tier than t10s).?

    • OMG I hate fighting the 705. The lower hull armor is sloped, so from the side that area is auto-bounce in many cases.

I just purchased the Emil I tonight and will be focusing on that for a while. I’m not sure whether I’ll play the 705.

    • Np problem an ya the 705 is beastly for sure no matter what kinda ammo you use on it lol, and looking forward to the Emily 1 lines review was curious to how it plays out compared to the amx an t57 lines

  40. Would you recommend getting the 4 pack of premium light tanks, or do you think this is just the best tier 8 light there is now?

    • The LT-432 is the best premium light tank at-tier in the game.

Which 4 tier 8 premium light tanks are in the bundle? The NA site won’t let me look at the bundle.

Really it depends on how much of a fan of light tanks you are, and whether you want to either play them and/or use them for crew training as you grind up light tank lines.

  41. Pen is kind of low in regular ammo I noticed you bounced some shots. You used Reg ammo? And don’t you think premium Ammo is required sometimes?

    • The silver pen of 176 is balanced. Certainly the premium ammo with 218 penetration provides much more reliable pen in some situations.

I’ve never fired any gold (premium) ammo, and this is my original account, for the reasons explained here:

  42. after playing the soviet light line myself this thing honestly looks like a better t 100 lt and tier 8 its fuckin insane

    • The LT-432 is down-tiered obviously (lower HP, lower alpha, lower view range, etc), but at-tier the LT-432 is much stronger than the T-100 LT.

The LT-432 is the strongest light tank at-tier in the game.

  43. Great review as always Taugrim and welcome back! I’m not seeing this tank in the Wargaming store? Anyone know when it will become available?

  44. Little bit of bounce problem?
Lol this russian bias is so op.
Compared to dog fight vs ather lights.

  45. Congrats on joining the community thing. Also about a week or two ago your platoon of unicums smashed my platoon of unicums on Murovanka… Loved how you played your light tank in the town.

  46. good to see you are back taugrim 🙂

  47. When release in EU ?

  48. Holy crap.. Where ya been?
