Back to the old format this week, in which I talk about the latest ways the big publishers are getting together to screw us all over and discuss why while it would be nice to have a new PC with a 3000 series GPU, I don't actually need one.

$60 or $70 dollars is nothing. Here in Canada AAA video games cost around $90 when you include tax. 80$ without.
My 1080ti is still going strong playing all my games.
Jingles if you dont need the 3000 series to render why bother getting the 2000 series card? Stick with the 1080 and buy 3000 later! Save money mate!
Jeez. It has been a few graphics cards generations hasn’t it. I’m still running with a 980 Ti. Haven’t felt the need to upgrade.

As a user of DaVinci Resolve, it uses fuck all of my GTX1060 and bleeds the CPU to death. So no, you are wrong, it is not GPU intensive

Hold on: You can play Xbox Series X games on your Xbox One? That’s fantastic! Well, for me that’s fantastic, obviously for Microsoft, it probably isn’t.
Excuse the question which has probably been answered before; Jingles, what is your reasoning for buying a prebuilt system with the huge wait times over buying just the parts? It basically completely nullifies the argument of not waiting for the 3080 because “time” when your current ordered pre-built may not be ready by September 17 anyway.
You build and paint fiddly models so I can’t see what would be too hard with the building your own?? I think Scan and others offer PC building protection insurance too so it’s not like your in this shit if you do something wrong
It’s been a long time now since I bought any game from a AAA company. Smaller companies actually have some soul to put into their games.

A LOT of US companies have shell companies especially in California or New York because business taxes are so stupidly high. I don’t blame them for that: however, they could move to another state. Also, the games they put out are crap, buggy, or missing content for later DLC.
If I was in Jingles shoes I’d be tempted to phone up the PC place and ask them to not put a GPU in and get a 3000 when it comes out.
Though this is because this is the second time I’ve not had that option as my system died weeks before the announcement of new architecture.
Jingles, if they still haven’t started to build the PC, check if you can change it. They’d just have to change an entry in a document somewhere, the 3080 is 25 pounds more expensive, so if they charge you 50 instead they make more money, and you get more performace per pound
Rising development costs is a really really big issue in game development – so as much as I’d hate to admit it, would probably be a good idea to raise the price – so long as you’re actually getting a complete game for that price tag and not missing half of the DLC full of microtransactions…
Unfortunately, publishers are publishers and don’t care about the people on either side of the game…
That extra 10usd isn’t going to the people writing the code…
With regards to The Witcher III, Bethesda actually did the same thing with TESV Special Edition. People who already owned Skyrim on Steam got Special Edition for free.
They make more money off of micro transactions than the sale of the games…..
For future mingles with Jingles you could do a “best of both worlds” approach, where you have gameplay taking up most of the screen, and in the bottom left or right you have the camera view. Or alternate between camera/gameplay when applicable. Idk, just a thought.
Not to mention that supply on the 3080 is going to be pretty low for a while due to the low yields of Samsung’s 8nm process, so in order to get one of those cards you’re going to have to get one ordered within the first half hour or so that they’re available. Otherwise you might not get one until early 2021. I mean I’m still going to try because my 1060 needs an upgrade as soon as I can get one, but I don’t blame someone for not wanting to wade into all that.

But Mignles you gots to understand, Star Citizen is streamed live, from space! For that the 8 FPS are actually pretty good! That’s why they are shooting up all those statellites, so you can have a better frame rate!

Not just gaming systems Jingles Model kits have become ridiculous to find depending on brand. Dare I say I saw a lindberg USS olympia on amazon for 51 $ us and nearly crapped myself, I’ve never seen it higher than 23 bucks.

i have the 2070 Super which handles 2 full HD monitor and one 4k monitor . gaming on the 4k monitor (32”) is flawless. in tests the 2070 Super is on the same level as the 1080Ti but lower core temp and there is the RT which is marvellous
