I bought the Asus RogSwift PG27AQ 27″ 4K IPS panel. How does it run with my aging Nvidia Geforce GTX770, lets take a look at some gameplay with FPS clearly displayed upper left and a few different game settings. The actual video recorded in 1440 as I cannot record 4K with my 770 using Shadowplay, you need a 900 series card for that. You would not be able to see the quality of 4K if you are using a 1080 screen anyway…

My computer specs:
Intel Core i7-2600K OC to 4.4Ghz – 16gb Corsair Ram – MSI Geforce GTX 770 – Asus P8P67 Mobo – ASUS RogSwift PG27AQ – Window 10 Home.

  1. the 980 runz well. i do a lot of flightsim games and it can really pump out
the pixels.. with that lovely monitor u have get a good graphics card.

  2. Time for an upgrade! I just ordered an MSI GTX 970 and its coming with a
free copy of The Division. Just wish I’d realised it was a double bank
holiday this weekend with no deliveries, so I’ll have to wait like the
impatient child that I am for my new toys :(

  3. Chances are your own visuals will appear more muddy because of the 1440P
resolution since it’s not an even division of 2. 1080 is half of 3840p and
generally looks better on the actual monitor.

But that depends mostly on the tech the monitor uses to smoothen things
    out, and your own preference.

  4. Man… I miss using my 4K display at 4K resolutions. But too many games
mess up hard when you’re using that resolution – And you have to log off to
    switch it around.

    It gets old.

  5. Looking for a 4k monitor after watching a FrankieonPC vid and it’s good to
see the experiences of someone like yourself Plumb who plays similar games.

The issue I have is my 7870 card – superb bang for buck over the last few
years but 4k, Star Citizen maxed and Oculus Rift means it’s obsolete.

  6. height adjustable desk for the win

  7. get a 970

  8. +Plumb Tanker Looks pretty sweet. I’m used to playing tanks on minimum
settings at 20-40fps myself but lately I’ve been getting sudden fps drops
on tank spots and it’s really annoying. I’m currently working on building a
new computer but progress is slow as I’m broke, perhaps I’ll send you a
pick of it when it’s finished.
